The Farewell (Featuring Liz Shannon Miller)

by | Aug 9, 2019 | 0 comments

On the 80th episode of Piecing It Together, film-critic Liz Shannon Miller joins me to discuss Lulu Wang’s The Farewell. This A24 film invites you into a beautiful Chinese family’s lives when the grandmother is diagnosed with cancer, but Chinese culture dictates that no one should tell her. It’s a film that reminds you just how important family is. Puzzle pieces include The Joy Luck Club, Little Miss Sunshine, Crazy Rich Asians and Catch Me If You Can.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for The Farewell and the movies we discuss!

Writer / Director – Lulu Wang

Starring Awkwafina, Tzi Ma, Diana Lin, Shuzhen Zhao
