Don’t Breathe

The Invisible Man (Featuring Robert Yaniz Jr.)

On the 119th episode of Piecing It Together, Robert Yaniz Jr. from the Crooked Table Podcast helps me kick off year 3 of our podcast by looking at The Invisible Man. This modernized take on the classic Universal Monster movie from Blumhouse and director Leigh Whannel is totally surprising and does the long tradition of monsters proud. Puzzle pieces include Terminator 2, Ex Machina, Sleeping With The Enemy and Gone Girl.

Crawl (Featuring Luella Chavez)

On the 75th episode of Piecing It Together, Luella Chavez joins me to talk about the Sam Raimi-produced killer alligator flick Crawl. Directed by Alexandre Aja, Crawl has plenty of B-Movie thrills, but surprises with its realistic tension and suspense. Puzzle pieces include The Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, The Impossible and The Cove.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (Featuring Sean Malloy)

On the 63rd episode of Piecing It Together, Sean Malloy joins me to discuss John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The latest in the Keanu Reeves super-assassin series raises the stakes (and the levels of violence) in every way imaginable leaving one to wonder how the hell they’re going to top it with John Wick: Chapter 4. Puzzle pieces include The Raid, Mission: Impossible and Game of Death.

Halloween Double Feature (Featuring Chad Clinton Freeman)

On the 45th episode of Piecing It Together, I’m joined by Chad Clinton Freeman for a special kind of episode we’ve never really done before… It’s both a Piecing It Together of 2018’s Halloween, and a Breaking It Apart of 1978’s original Halloween. While coming up with our puzzle pieces for the new one, we realized that all the movies that inspired it, were themselves inspired by the original, so we thought this would make for a fun episode. Puzzle pieces include Scream, Happy Death Day and Mean Girls.

A Quiet Place (Featuring Chad Clinton Freeman)

On the 10th (wow, ten episodes!) episode of Piecing It Together, co-host Chad Clinton Freeman and I discuss A Quiet Place. This creature feature from John Krasinski in which a family must hide from blind but ultra-hearing predators was one of the big surprise hits of 2018. It stars Krasinski and Emily Blunt as well as some really cool monsters. Puzzle pieces include 10 Cloverfield Lane, Signs and The Road.
